Repairs
Repairs are a major part of what we do at Paul Stuart's. We take great pride in repairing your jewelry and making it wearable again. Like we always say, "it's not jewelry if you can't wear it!".

Cleaning- Rings or chains lost their luster? Bring them in- we're always glad to give them a quick buff, at no charge and while you wait. We'll also take a quick look to try and spot any potential problems.
Chain repair- Sooner or later all chains will break or need some repair. Bring them in and we'll suggest the the most economical way to make them wearable again.

Resizing- Small pieces are added or removed from the "shank" of a ring to get a fit that's just right.
Reshank- The worn "bottom" of a ring can be replaced- metal can't be added to what's there, a new piece must be made. The charge for this service varies and is based on the size of the piece needed. The piece removed can be credited against the charges, or returned to you.
Retipping- The tips of the prongs that hold your stones can be built up. Over time, the tips wear down, leaving less metal to secure the stones in place. This can lead to stones that spin or rattle, and in the worst case, a lost stone. Bring your pieces in- we're always happy to take a look to make sure your stones are secure.
Antique Pieces- Antique jewelry has always been a passion of Paul's. Bring something in and you're likely to learn something about how, when or where it was made. We stock
antique cut stones and can even custom alloy metal to make your antique pieces like new.
Laser- The newest weapon in our arsenal! A laser is able to solder with a pinpoint accuracy that simply wasn't possible before. We can now repair very delicate or heat sensitive pieces we couldn't just a few years ago. So, if you got a piece that you were told couldn't be repaired, bring it in- we may be able to make it like new.
Stone Replacement- Got a ring, pendant or earring that's missing a stone? Bring it in! We have suppliers from all over the world to find the perfect match for that missing stone.

Watch Repairs- Paul Stuart is an expert in evaluating antique watches. We are Rolex and fine watch specialists. We offer free estimates on all repairs and watch batteries can be replaced while you wait.
Pearl Stringing- We can restring pearls or beads, the standard charge is $2/inch. We have a large selection of clasps available, from the decorative to the extra secure. We can match pearls to extend your existing strand or make removable chain extensions. These chain extensions allow your 18" strand do double duty as a 20 or 24" strand.
